The buzz has reached Shahid Kapoor.

Apparently, the Mausam star was canoodling with his Badmaash Company co-star Anushka Sharma, at a party recently.

If reports and apparent 'eyewitness' accounts stand, the two actors caught up in the moment, were unmindful of other guests and a sizeable media presence outside the building where the party was held.

A short while ago, Shahid tweeted on his hurt and anger at the "reports".

"Sad . Unfair . Makes me angry," he tweeted. "If nothing else they need to respect the dignity of a girl !!!!!"

With both actors about to begin a new film opposite each other, such "reports" would undoubtedly create the wrong kind of attention.

Rajinikanth makes RA.One possible

Putting health problems aside, the superstar arrived in Mumbai to shoot with SRK. Here's what happened

October 2, 2011, Rajinikanth returned in front of the camera. Thanks to Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar shot for Khan's opus RA.One at Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods studio on Sunday. Accompanied by his daughter Soundarya, Rajini shot for the much publicised scene with Shah Rukh taking a one day break from his acting sabbatical and process of recuperation.

Though his family had earlier mentioned that the iconic south Indian star would not be travelling to Mumbai for the single shot, Rajini arrived in the city with Soundarya and a team of technicians on Sunday morning. After a brief rest, the actor headed to Ghai's Whistling Woods studio and shot for the scene.

Bidding the superstar farewell, SRK and RA.One team headed back to the postproduction studio to put in place the scene that officially completes the RA.One shoot.

An eyewitness informed Mumbai Mirror, "Shah Rukh Khan and Rajini Sir hit it off instantly. Rajini Sir's daughter Soundarya had brought along her team of technicians from Chennai to make sure no time was wasted. She made it clear that her father would not be able to shoot for more than a couple of hours. The shot however, was wrapped up well within the time limit."

Shah Rukh, it seems, went out of his way to make the superstar comfortable during the shot. "They were extremely relaxed with each other. Shah Rukh made sure that the older actor was okay. It was pretty evident that Shah Rukh is a Rajinikanth fan himself."

According to insiders, the shot is a replica of the Robot scene where the robotic Rajini turns magnetic and grabs all the metal guns. In this, however, it is Shah Rukh who tries to do the same. But the guns don't come to him. All metallic object fly past SRK to the one man standing behind him - Rajinikanth!

Speaking about the 'humbling, inspiring and overwhelming experience', RA.One sound designer Resul Pookutty said, "The shooting went off like a dream. Watching Rajini Sir and SRK together was like a dream come true. This truly was a great tribute from a superstar to an icon

"The RA.One team feels the film is complete now, after Rajini Sir's shot. Rajini Sir and Shah Rukh in one frame is historic. They were so comfortable with each other, it was hard to imagine that they had never shot together before," added Pookutty.

However, Pookutty felt that the shoot couldn't have happened without Soundarya's support. "She came to Mumbai with her team to oversee every detail. But it was Rajinikanth who proved that he indeed is a superstar by flying down to Mumbai despite his health problems.

It's not easy to do what Rajini Sir did for the RA.One team. We can't thank him enough. If he hadn't shot for us, RA.One would've remained incomplete," concluded Pookutty.

Mausam: Movie Review

Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Aditi Sharma, Supriya Pathak, Manoj Pahwa
Music: Pritam Chakraborty
Director: Pankaj Kapur
Producer: Sheetal Vinod Talwar, Sunil A. Lulla
Writer: Pankaj Kapur

When a seasoned character actor of the quality of Pankaj Kapur takes the director’s seat, expectations are bound to be high, especially in the light of the fact that the thespian’s professional alliance has consistently been with Hindi cinema of the offbeat kind. So it wouldn’t be fitting to judge his first film by the indulgent yardsticks usually reserved for less ambitious Bollywood potboilers.

Had it been made by anyone else, Mausam might well have been dubbed an exceptional film. Coming from Kapur, it is at best a middling effort.

Mausam is an ambitious film that seeks to blend the conventions of mass-oriented Mumbai entertainers with the style and substance of a more intimate and meaningful mode of storytelling. But the tools that Kapur employs are simple and uncomplicated. Just as well.

Mausam is nowhere near flawless. Its first half is visually scrumptious and eminently watchable; the second is a touch erratic and unconvincing.

Yet Kapur’s well-honed sensibility serves to ensure that the film never loses its grip on its heart even when its narrative flow borders on the dreary.

Mausam is overlong and tends to meander rather listlessly in parts, but the debutant director deserves plaudits for daring to put a mighty new spin on his cross-community love saga that spans across several tumultuous decades.

The intense, intermittently engaging tale at the core of Mausam unfolds against the backdrop of several violent political flashpoints that have shaken the foundations of contemporary India.

The ebbs and tides of the love story are impinged upon by the outbreak in the late 1980s of militancy in Kashmir Valley, the Ayodhya dispute, the Mumbai serial blasts, the Kargil conflict and the post-Godhra Gujarat riots of 2002.

Mausam is not, however, cast in the mould of an edgy Mani Ratnam film. Its political context remains largely in the background. Yet Kapur generally succeeds in weaving the harsh reality of Hindu-Muslim hostilities into his fictional tapestry with skill, style and sensitivity.

It isn’t as if everything about Mausam has the sparkle and abandon of spring or the freshness of dew-drops on an upcountry winter morning. The film tends to be a touch laboured at times but it benefits no end from the writer-director’s willingness to steer clear of the familiar.

The film opens in the Punjab countryside, where a drifter waiting for a call-up from the Indian Air Force, Harry (Shahid Kapoor) meets and falls in love with a Kashmiri girl, Aayat (Sonam Kapoor), who has been sent away to the safety of her elder sister’s home.

But as events beyond the smitten couple’s control swirl around them, the relationship between Harry and Aayat inevitably runs aground. The lovers separate, pine in silence for each other, meet again and part in faraway Scotland, and then finally reunite amid the Gujarat conflagration.

Mausam tells a life-affirming love story that is enlivened by fine performances from the lead actors, embellished with a clutch of hummable numbers (Pritam) and given a high degree of sophistication by cinematographer Binod Pradhan’s luminous camerawork.

For Shahid Kapoor, Mausam represents a major leap forward as an actor. From a happy-go-lucky wastrel to a passionate lover boy, and from an earnest fighter pilot to a man agonising for his lost love, he traverses a wide spectrum of shades with confidence.

Though comparisons may be inevitable, Shahid is neither Top Gun’s Tom Cruise nor Aradhana’s younger Rajesh Khanna. He carves out his own identity, lending to the character a range of subtle emotional elements that set it apart.

Sonam Kapoor may still have some way to go as an actress, but she conveys the essential vulnerability of a girl forever under duress, bringing out just the right mix of feminine fragility and native resolve.

Mausam isn’t obviously your average boy meets girl story. Boy indeed meets girl in this romantic tale, but they do not walk down the path that screen lovers usually take in Bollywood films.

What Mausam articulates is a simple truth: in the uneasy times that we live in, is pure, unadulterated love possible? Can our hearts and minds rise above the destructive forces that surround us?

The nearly three-hour-long Mausam takes eons to arrive at the conclusion of that thematic formulation, but the heartfelt humanist statement that it makes is shot through with honesty and simplicity.

To conclude, Mausam could quite easily have ended up being a stodgy, strenuous and self-conscious drama. Writer-director Kapur, the accomplished actor that he is, orchestrates the emotional ups and downs of his tale with a commendable degree of moderation for the most part. Mausam is certainly worth a viewing.

Another body showcase for Salman

Salman Khan offers definitely discovered an approach outside to make sure you engage in this safe and sound inside the pack business office. Require motion pictures that have executed effectively through the To the thereafter Salman-ise these individuals with components that will followers be expecting as a result of the films.

Though the original the silver screen (Bodyguard for Malayalam, Kavalan throughout Tamil) has been the sappy, long-winded amateur dramatics that counted alone about the overlook when they get home to give, right here the particular style is simply a justification towards summary an alternative full-blown Sallu present.

Like Salman extremely desired a justification to have off of their jacket in addition to alter the interest within the software to make sure you her overall body, the following video offers your man adequate justification to make sure you fold his muscular areas. And so, ideal as soon as he or she is presented the moment she's accomplishing a muscle-dance, flaunting an individual's biceps, he could be working on precisely what she truly does most effective — a health club routine.

Your dog walks available like the Hulk, spats crooks not to mention communicates these traveling and additionally principal points for no reason find a way to uncover him or her, regardless if their duration takes up only two thirds of your display. Sallu is usually Wonderful Singh, an important bodyguard designated to shield Divya (Kareena Kapoor) which joke message or calls the pup as a result of any strange telephone number, a compilation of requests producing a powerful extremley unlikely old-fashioned enchantment where by Fantastic will not maintenance what the lady would appear that simply because absolutely adore doesn't necessarily stalk with the vision, the software is a result of along with the.

In case using a fabulous bodyguard fails to make it possible for your man undertake so much he / she can during alternative window films, what's going to? There may be a world in which she or he moves within consistence that is certainly loosened and additionally negotiates simply accommodate with this. Which will suggests almost everything you need to know within the dvd. It's actually not a fabulous tailor-made function just for Salman. It is Salman writing any now created shed tshirt in reference to his lean muscle.

The actual novelists haven't much had time in order to several punch-lines this time? Won't make any difference. Salman might handle expression a similar path thrice from the picture. “Do everyone any give preference to. Conduct my family no go for. ” Certainly not thoughts if that can make your pet reasonable indecisive. Nonetheless startlingly, Salman is fairly subdued this occassion together with he likewise reaches set their acting strength to apply when he's to behave all of the delicate and also true.

This jokes are generally vested towards debutant Rajat Rawail just who can bring your own home down together with real humor, her substantial mode and also ugly body through exhaust the cause of almost all of the laughters, despite the fact that Raj Babbar runs while using gusto of your Eighties bad guy in a position that could have got ultimately wanted Amrish Puri.

It's the Salman model of an Karan Johar motion picture of your Nineties of which is bound to always be in comparison to any sappiness connected with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, given that play in the end.

Kareena leaves within a quick capabilities (her daughter Karishma contains named for ones mobile call sections with the picture for her) and also appearance unquestionably ravishing inside ‘Teri Meri' songs placed prior to climaxing. Generally if the video gets results also relatively, it is because from the appearance the particular points command line. Kareena not to mention Salman boost the gameplay to a different quality and this reprise is among the most very best the following piece of software may be.

That sheep in lion's clothing

To get a film which has the finishing you could can imagine perhaps out of your synopsis or maybe that storyline, its remarkable the simplest way Anurag Kashyap is constantly everything effectively obscured. Once you believed a very good film is not to be having an unsatisfactory script, Kashyap attests you will bad for his particular top directorial effort and hard work nonetheless.

All gentleman with large poor Mumbai this 20-year-old daughter works to to get allow is actually a slip along with likes love-making favors or even cash. Kashyap's heroine solutions any seedy underbelly of this unpleasant community by working on sex wedding favours to help repressed men often visiting any parlour using her very own determination to create a quick dollar however doesn't published fully. She doesn't necessarily visit right since it seems that could insure that it is a video cliché as well as being a smaller amount unsettling when compared to featuring them all your girlfriend “handshakes”.

Hence, like the majority of Yash Raj heroines, your ex is usually virginal, if the woman job needs the danger of the usb ports being in danger. As a result she's got not rested utilizing your girlfriend beau as the lady may well just think about locating the grandfather. She would do everything to obtain the grandfather yet nevertheless, as soon as the circumstance occurs which will she has towards accommodate a team of abundant gem vendors, any overseer investigations that need which has a easy option for the ex boyfriend participating.

The actual bane from this picture will be of which it's prospect of intimacy will not require the particular action alone. Because the young lady hasn't surpassed the brand of virginity, any arriving might be process not as much terrible or possibly disturbing versus software expectations. Kashyap illustrates goals of being Gasper Noe nevertheless ends up becoming alot more traditional when compared to even Robert Zemeckis. Even family-friendly In to the time to come confirmed further inappropriate procedures compared to that which is in that really impressive grownup video.

Your result is also diluted due to strategy the actual rituals are found in your video. We all observe photographs about the woman chucking structures, cleanup your ex hands and fingers, typically reiterating it again regular. Even while this particular “handshake” organization may well be astonishing to mother to your neighbors, to be able to people who are useful to community cinema, this really honestly any watered decrease version.

Nevertheless, any show is constantly anyone intrigued due to the means Kashyap has strike the following information. The shot-taking (cinematography by means of Rajeev Ravi) and even forbidding will serve in the form of master-class for the purpose of private filmmakers with budgetary disadvantage.

A exceptionally healthy, relatively improvised quips connected with Gulshan Devaiya and even Puja Swarup set off some distance with presenting all the brighter times the actual film wanted to account balance its one-note brooding state of mind. Kalki's histrionic disadvantage are actually subjected to when she's got to share with you structures by means of Gulshan or Puja. Kalki is certainly amazing whenever she has in order to permit the woman big eyes undertake a debating (again, one among director getting together again in the software without a solitary unique line) and while she will not need to get stunning. It does not take screechy, high-pitched reactions of which the woman cannot certainly obtain best. They can be always an important step preceding what exactly this video camera are designed for, the performance that will would've become much more loved about the step. Prashant Prakash is known as a unwilling recipient about this stage-to-film adaptation too nevertheless exhibits superb swear with his gestures plus timing.

Just how do you make a predictable piece of land reduced guessable? Toss throughout red-colored herrings. That is certainly just what exactly Kashyap does indeed. It is actually gimmicky, needless to say, nevertheless lacking all of these misdirections, this may be a picture that have an conclusion people would have suspected from the initially six minutes.

Throughout an individual's projects towards change along with distract, your dog additionally has got the casting belonging to the father wrong and therefore the usually powerful cumming goes downhill very because of this. The particular rating by simply Naren Chandavarkar together with Benedict Taylor is merely what precisely a roll film had to obtain the country's state of mind most suitable, especially in the remaining eyeglass frames.

All round, this is usually a dvd this, like that daughter, is placed to the retaining wall. It is usually virgin mobile land for the purpose of Asia nevertheless completed with far more power out in the open. Additionally, the White Hunter wellies keep far from damaged.

Why Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma refused to make up? | Anushka Sharma's blast from the past

Katrina Kaif has a new ego trip, and at the wrong end of the Bollywood supercat's stick is Anushka Sharma. The amusing bit about the fact is that the whole fight is over a make-up man! Here's what happened: Katrina needed her favourite make-up man, Subhash, at Yash Raj Studios for some last-minute patch-up shoot of her upcoming film, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Subhash it seems has been Katrina's chosen pancake man ever since he worked with her in Ram Gopal Varma's 2005 hit, Sarkar. The trouble is Subhash was already scheduled to fly off to London with Anushka Sharma for a two-day live show, around the same time as Katrina wanted him.

"When Katrina realised Subhash wouldn't be available, She declared she wouldn't shoot for the rest of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan unless she got the make-up man of her choice. Finally, Yash Raj Films (YRF) top honcho Aditya Chopra had to personally intervene," said a source.

Chopra of course was treading a thin line. On one hand, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is YRF's biggest release this year and Katrina is right now the banner's favourite star. Apart from this film, Kat will be seen in two YRF biggies next year.

The first is the Kabir Khan directed, Salman Khan- starrer Ek Tha Tiger. More importantly, Anushka and Katrina will be sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in an untitled film that will mark the return of Yash Chopra as director.

On the other hand, Anushka has been a lucky mascot for the production house. Handpicked from a bunch of wannabes to star opposite SRK in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008, she became an instant star and has followed up her successful debut with the YRF hits such as Band Baaja Baaraat and Badmash Company. Anushka also has a YRF film titled Ladies Vs Ricky Behl opposite Ranveer Singh coming up later this year.

While both actresses are vital for YRF, Aditya Chopra obviously realised Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was more important at this point, considering the film is slated to release on September 9. So, Chopra, reportedly decided to convince Anushka to let go of Subhash.

The hapless make-up man's London trip was cancelled despite his tickets and visa being in order. For Subhash, here comes the sad part. Kat's shoot for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan had to be postponed. "The poor man had to suffer losses because of starry power games. He lost out on the London assignment and Katrina's shoot also didn't happen," the source said.

RGV refuses to show 'Not A Love Story' to Maria | Maria Susairaj sends RGV a legal notic

Mumbai:
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Saturday refused to show his soon-to-be released movie 'Not A Love Story', based on the gruesome murder of Neeraj Grover, to Kannada actress Maria Susairaj, who recently walked free in the case after serving three years behind the bars.

Directed by Varma, 'Not a Love Story' is a crime thriller, said to be inspired by the television executive's killing in 2008.

Maria, who was found guilty of disposing the body of Grover along with her fiancee Emile Jerome, had on Friday sent a legal notice to Varma saying that he did not have right to release a film based on her life without her consent.

RGV, however, has refused to show her the film.

“I will not show my film to Maria as I have repeatedly said my film is just inspired by the incident and not completely based on her. There are so many differences in the film from the real life incident,” Varma said.

“My heroine is not a South Indian actress and her fiancee is not in Navy as in real case. Also, the film is just an interpretation of what could have happened and not a reporting on what actually happened. No one was there to know what the reality is. This is not her story and I am not showing the film to her,” he said.

Meanwhile, Maria's lawyer, Sherif Sheikh said, “We have asked him to show the film before the release. If he does not we will file a suit and the court will decide whether the movie can be released or not.”

I AM Kalam

Director: Nila Madhab Panda
Cast: Harsh Mayar, Gulshan Grover, Pitobash Tripathy, Hussan Saad
Release Date: 2011-08-05 12:00:00
Quick Take: Endearing and enriching

Director Nila Madhab Panda’s debut film I Am Kalam is charming. It’s a beautiful collage of heart-warming moments, sparkling performances and inspiring stories. The film proves that small can be beautiful.

Set in the picturesque Rajasthan, I Am Kalam is an inspiring tale of a poor kid Chottu (Harsh Mayar) who emerges triumphant despite being burdened with adversities. His dreams are encouraged by the aspirational stories of former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam. Even though the film delivers a social message, it doesn’t get preachy at any stage. Every point is delivered with optimism and follows a realistic approach. Also, APJ Abdul Kalam is just used as a metaphor. While the basic tendency of this genre of film would be to show the realization of the kid’s dream by the president, I Am Kalam refrains from any over-the-top portrayal. The screenplay of the movie boasts of continuity, depth and zero loopholes. Every scene has meaning to it and is a metaphorical representation to the basic subject.

The film works big time as an ensemble. Harsh Mayar is effortlessly endearing as Chottu. No wonder he won the National Film Award (Best Child Artist, 2011). Gulshan Grover gets to play a strong character after a long time and he puts in a compelling act. Pitobash Tripathy, who stole the show in Shor In The City, is first rate as Chottu’s frenimy. Another child artist, Hussan Saad, who plays the royal prince and Chottu’s best friend lights up the screen with his cuteness. Though there are no songs, the background music works as an effective tool in storytelling. A gem of a scence is when Chottu vents out his frustration though music in the middle of the night in the dry desert.

Rakhi Sawant ka press conference | Rakhi Sawant to host a chat show

For an outspoken starlet who loves her plastic surgeon and keeps the media waiting for two hours, Rakhi Sawant — pouting, glamorous, crass, apologetic — is a bloody good sport.

At a press conference in Delhi to announce the launch of a comedy show about bizarre household anecdotes (Gajab Desh Ki Ajab Kahaniyaan, UTV), she fielded questions with — one can’t call it ‘grace’ — a panache she has often been associated with.

Reporters have been flown in for the press conference from Bhopal, Indore, Mumbai. Why was she two hours late, they ask, annoyed. Her sari, she says, got stolen. This is her excuse. She’s smiling, hair perfect, make up perfect, figure perfect.

Everyone laughs. Someone from the back asks her if she thinks she’s a bharitya nari, what with that snug blouse and low waist. She thrusts her torso out and she dares you —is anything uncovered? Huh?! Kuch dikh raha hai aapko? Then smiles.

Catcalls from the back of the hall.

Sawant knows her audience, the reporters, the cameramen asking her to pose ‘thoda aise side se’. She knows what they want. She invented the gallery she plays to, and still manages an innocence, a lack of self-consciousness in her raunchy replies.

The questions were bizarre, unprofessional. Which man does she want? Ramdev. A flurry of priceless quotes: “Apke liye Baba honge, mere woh swami hain”. She’s a fan of his kapalbharti technique — “Woh jo andar bahar andar bahar kartein hain — I love it!” More hooting.

When will she visit Bihar, asks a Patna correspondent. When Nitish invites me, she says. All answers are pat-pat. “Laloo had invited me. I met his whole family, his wife, his kids.”

What about social media? “Of course main Twitter par hoon!” Why not active? Time to show claws: “Why? It’s not like the others do it themselves. Everyone has PR people. I want to be original.”

Some man tries to get a bit cordial with her. A bodyguard slaps his wrist. She smiles even then. Bechara. Get in line. Aapki bhi baari ayegi. Camera phones are out in hordes. Some taking strategic top angle shots. She’s sitting on a throne, quite the queen B. Everyone else is saying, “Rakhi! Rakhi! Rakhi ji! Ma’am!”

Ma’am trashes arch rival Mallika Sherawhat. “Usko abroad se ab phenk diya hai woh Jackie Chan Whacky Chan ne” — “She’s been thrown out from abroad by that Jackie Chan or whatever he is.”

She also says she has no interest in Bollywood. Then yells, I am original! I am glamorous! She keeps saying this. And the way she keeps her audience in splits, poses for pictures, replies when asked anything, everything — it all suggests that despite the plastic and silicon (and not least of all for picking up a 3,000-calorie almond biscotti from the refreshment counter on her way out), she is a little more real than her tinsel town peers.
