oining the race of tablet revolution, Fly Mobiles has announced its first Android tablet - Fly Vision , for the Indian market. It will be available in the market for Rs 7,299.
It will face tough competition from the Beetel Magiq tablet which has a 786 MHz processor and is priced at Rs 9,799. Also, the government of India has recently announced the Aakash tablet which though will come for around Rs 3,000 but has a slower 366 Mhz processor.
The 7 inch Fly Vision has a TFT LCD touchscreen with a resolution: of 800x480 pixels. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS and features a 600 MHz Rockchip 2818 chipset processor and 256 MB of RAM. It uses a 4000 mAh battery that, according to the company, provides 6 hours of continues operation. This Android tablet also houses an external memory slot which can accommodate a 16 GB micro SD card. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera as well.
Commenting on the launch, Prem Kumar, chief executive officer, Fly Mobile, said, "Design and development is the essence of FLY brand. Fly Vision allows the users to access the Android Market and comes pre-loaded with standard kit of Google applications like Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube. Fly Vision is enabled with connectivity functions like Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G.
Additionally, the tablet comes with a SIM card slot where the user can make voice calls and use data for browsing. The tablet can play HD videos, comes with a pre-installed MS Office and utility tools.
The tablet is equipped with different pre-installed applications: e-reader, instant messaging, video player, social web integration, standard 3.5 mm audio jack and a built-in speaker.
