Of pickpockets and leaked videos: Bhindi Baazaar

THE CAST of upcoming film Bhindi Baazaar visited Ambience Mall in Gurgaon recently to promote their film. Producer-director Karan Arora accompanied by Caterina Lopez, Vedika Pratap Singh, Shilpa Shukla, Prashant Narayanan and Pawan Malhotra, were present to talk about the movie and relate their experiences in filming it.
The story revolves around the pickpockets in the Bhindi Bazaar area of South Mumbai. Taking about the issue that the movie dwells upon, Arora said, “It is a different film with a multiplex appeal and an inspirational value. The film gives a street feel with realistic dialogues and gritty characters. It depicts the real issues and the methods the pick-pockets resort to. No one sees or bothers about them with the seriousness with which it has been depicted in this movie,” he added
The realistic gripping of the dark politics among the pick-pockets of Bhindi Baazaar in Mumbai, as the movie depicts, has its own heirarchy, with the organisation headed by Mamu (Pawan Malhotra).
Commenting on the leak of a few scenes, model-turned actor Vedika Pratap Singh, who plays the role of Shabana, said, “The video leak was not in my hands, and I have heard that it was leaked through the editing table. It was a learning experience and is an eye-opener to all that happens in the industry.”
Caterina Lopez, sister of Jenifer Lopez, who has performed an item song in the film, said, “It is a change from the regular hip-hop moves and I am a huge fan of Munni, and would not deny that I do dance to the song most of the times. I am also a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and I believe he is the hottest guy.”

The film releases tomorrow.
