No Tamannah in Power advertisements

CHENNAI: Power Soaps Limited in Puducherry has been restrained by the Madrs High Court from using or associating the name and videograph of film actor Tamanna Santhosh Bhatia (21) in Mumbai in its advertisements or sales promotion materials.
Justice V Ramasubramanian granted the injunction till June 8, while passing interim orders on a civil suit from Tamanna, on Monday.
According to Tamanna, the company approached her through J&D Communication P Ltd in T Nagar for promoting the sale of the products of Power Soaps Ltd by appearing as their brand ambassador.
An agreement was entered into on October 7, 2008 and she was paid a honorarium. The agreement expired on October 6, 2009.
However, the soap company continued to use the video clippings and other advertisement materials well beyond the agreement period, without her consent. Hence, the present suit.
