I don't think RPI has anything against me—Anupam Kher

Some activists of the Republican Party of India (RPI) broke lights and pelted stones at actor Anupam Kher’s house last night. The miscreants seemed to have misapprehended that the actor had passed adverse remarks against the Indian Constitution during a TV show on Hazare's fast for Lokpal Bill.However, when the actor was asked whether he passed such derogatory comments that constitution should be thrown out, Anupam denied and stated that he never made such references about constitution.
"I never said anything derogatory...I am upset and worried after this. I was in a celebratory mood when this happened...I don't think RPI has anything against me...I will not seek protection,” stated Kher.
Incidentally, post the controversy created by some activists, the actor has been getting lots of support from Bollywood and also from the common man.
Talking about the support and love, Anupam stated, "Had I really said what I have been accused of saying by few politicians, I would have accepted my mistake. I am mature enough to do that but why should I apologize for something I have not even said.”
Nine people have been detained for attacking Kher’s house
According to the latest reports, nine people have been taken into custody for damaging the house of the actor by throwing bottles and breaking the gates.
Speaking about arresting nine people, the Juhu Senior Police Inspector Arun Bhagat stated, “Nine people have been taken into custody for attacking Kher's house. They threw bottles at the house and damaged the gates. We have charged them under sections 143, 427, 145, 147 and 149 of the IPC.”
Anupam Kher faces privilege notice
After making some references against the constitution, the members of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly moved a breach of privilege notice against the veteran actor for his alleged unsympathetic comments against the constitution, passed on a TV show.
The privilege notice was issued when the NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad took up the issue during the question hour at the assembly on Thursday.
The speaker Dilip Walse Patil admitted that the Awhad statement was converted into a breach of privilege notice.
Speaking about Anupam Kher’s comments, NCP MLA Awhad stated, “The actor has insulted the constitution framed by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and the powers of the legislature. He has said ‘just like people change their underwear and gas cylinders, the constitution should also be replaced.
