doubles malayalam movie review | Doubles (2011) Review

doubles malayalam movie review

Direction: Sohan Seenulal
Script: Sachi-Sethu
Music: James Vasanthan
Cast: Mammotty, Nadia Moidu, Tapsee
Release: 2011, April 14th
Language: Malayalam, Kerala

Performance: Par below standards of the excellence of Mammotty, and still hard to find out the reason why actors like Mammotty and Mohanlal are preferring characters and movies like this!! Mammotty is ok, at times it looks like he is not interested and his makeup could have done better, many scenes shows his age around his neck and near eyes. Otherwise he is very convincing. Nadia is good. Tapsee is ok, looks good but no facial expression in emotional scenes, and could have taken care of Lip-sync more. Suraj is as usual, evokes laughter once or twice and irritate rest of the times, same to say about Biju Kuttan and Salim Kumar also. Shaiju was very good.
Direction: Sohan Seenulal is below average, very routine shots, no care about any kind of gimmicks. Lot of unrelated scenes and a very adjusted and compromised climax.
Music: Well known Tamil music director James Vasanth is not utilized well by the director, and the music is not good enough to attract audience.
Plot: Mammotty and Nadia Moidu are siblings; they have an accident rescue unit in memories of their parents whom they lost in an accident. One day they rescue’s Tapsee from an accident. Everything around their happy life takes a sudden change from that point.

Positive:
• Mammotty's screen presence
• First half with few comedy scenes
Negatives:
• Screenplay
• Direction
• Old fashioned presentation
• Climax
• Very predictable scenes
